As part of Police Commemoration Day celebrations, the police personnel at Siddiept led by Commissioner V. Siva Kumar held a series of programmes including blood donation camp and Open House.
In the Open House different types of police weapons, ammunition and communication systems were put on display for students and general public.
The students of different educational institutions including that of the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IITH), were exposed to the latest communication systems.
“This will give an advantage to both the students and police. We want the students to innovate new technologies useful for us which will create a win-win situation. The students will get a chance to work with security systems of the police which will offer a good career for them,” Mr. Siva Prasad told The Hindu. Blood donation camp was organised at NGO Bhavan and Mr. Siva Kumar himself donated blood. In all 103 units of blood was donated by police personnel, teachers and students.
“More than 500 police personnel had sacrificed their lives to provide safety and security to people in the society. Several police sacrificed their life to establish peace in Warangal district,” said Mr. Siva Kumar. ACP Narasimha Reddy, CIs Nandeeswar Reddy, Saidulu, SB Inspector Prasad and others participated in the programme. At Sangareddy, blood donation camp was held at Police Kalyana Mandapam on Monday. Along with police personnel, journalists P.V. Rao, Kranti, Yogananda Reddy and Bhaskar Reddy also donated blood in the camp.
